Collegiate Institute for Math & Science- CIMS
Collegiate Institute for Math & Science (CIMS) is a nationally
recognized and academically rigorous public high school established in
2003 under the auspices of the New Century High Schools Initiative by
New Visions for Public Schools and the New York City Department of
Education. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Carnegie
Corporation and the Open Society Institute provided funding. Admission
to CIMS is based on completion of the NYC High School Application and
attendance at an Open House session. On average, CIMS receives over
5,000 applications for 180 seats for the incoming academic year.
