Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we learn, we build, we play… with LEGO® Bricks. Programs are built around our proprietary model plans, designed by engineers and architects, with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks. Our specially designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for the Bricks 4 Kidz approach to educational play. At Bricks 4 Kidz, we believe that kids learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity.
GOALS
Introduce engineering and architecture principles
Explore math and science concepts
Increase general knowledge through discussions related to each model
Develop social/emotional skills such as patience, teamwork and communication in the process of completing a project
Enhance self-esteem by solving problems and completing projects
Improve fine-motor skills as children manipulate small components
Utilize multiple learning modalities to engage visual, kinesthetic and auditory learning styles
Teach important classroom skills such as organization and following directions
Foster an appreciation for how things work
Our programs provide a safe, relaxed learning environment where initiative is invited and self-expression is celebrated. Model building provides opportunities for problem-solving and helps kids develop an appreciation for how things work. All this takes place while kids are having fun and socializing in a non-competitive atmosphere.

AbilityFirst

AbilityFirst was established in 1926 and known as the Crippled Children’s Society of Southern California (CCS) for many decades. Lawrence L. Frank and Paul Dietrich, both Rotarians, were two of the original founders of the organization and they continued their loyal support throughout their lives. When our organization was founded, the name reflected the thinking and norms of the time. The ensuing decades, however, brought dramatic change. We expanded to provide programs for adults and children with disabilities. We also broadened our mission in order to meet the needs of those with developmental disabilities, as well as those with physical disabilities. Development disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and epilepsy. In 2000, the organization adopted the name AbilityFirst to better reflect our mission, our vision for the future, and our commitment to celebrating the unique abilities of every individual.

Young Rembrandts - Chicago Near West Suburbs

Founded in 1988 by Bette Fetter, Young Rembrandts has become a recognized leader in art education. What began as one person, working with children in her home, has developed into an international business that teaches drawing to thousands of students every week.
Fetter applied her fine arts education and background in child development to create an original, step-by-step method to teach children drawing, the fundamental skill of all visual arts.
Research and education experts say what Young Rembrandts has always delivered: there is a significant correlation between involvement in the arts and achievement in the classroom. Children who learn to draw using the Young Rembrandts method develop spatial reasoning and fine motor skills, order and sequencing abilities, visualization, and self-discipline as well as fundamental art skills. Our original curriculum introduces concrete ideas and techniques that enlarge their visual vocabularies, enrich their imaginations and their minds.
Today, Young Rembrandts partners with pre-schools, elementary schools and community centers to either augment or supply their art education programs. Young Rembrandts has a solid reputation for offering well-organized classes and teaching original, high quality curriculum in a positive environment.
